How the Marc Jacobs bag lineup breaks down in 2026

A set of named families, not one wall of leather, is the way the US site is arranged. The site navigation carries The Tote Bag, The Snapshot, The Scene, Crossbody Bags, Mini Bags, Shoulder Bags and Totes, 312 styles in all. On 1 September 2026, ownership moved — WHP Global and G-III marcjacob Apparel Group acquired the brand from LVMH, and Marc Jacobs remained as Founder and Creative Director. A quirk worth knowing: the site labels every price “SALE PRICE,” including full-price stock, so a bag is only truly reduced when a “REGULAR PRICE” appears beside it. As of September 2026, all figures here are US dollars on marcjacobs.com in the US, and prices vary by country and change without notice. A lot of people search “marc jacob,” but the label is Marc Jacobs, plural.

The Tote Bag

The flagship line holds 105 styles and launched in 2019, drawn from archival designs. For positioning, the brand attributes to Jacobs the framing line “No more Birkins, only Tote Bags”, which says it plainly. Rounded top handles and the name in oversized block letters ride on a wide rectangle, debossed on leather and closed by a top zip. In cotton canvas, The Canvas Medium runs 13in by 6in by 11in, with one interior zip pocket and two slip pockets. Straps trip people up: Crossbody, Small and Medium include a removable adjustable webbing strap, while the Canvas Large does not. Canvas comes in at about $150, $178, $198 and $228 by size, jacquard at about $325 and $350, and full-grain leather at about $398, $498 and $598. The cheapest route to a recognizable marc jacobs handbag is this family, which is why students and commuters land here first.

The Snapshot

This is the bag most people picture when they hear the name, and thirty styles sit here. Conceived in a Parisian studio as the brand tells it, it was shaped after a camera bag and debuted on the runway. The signature double-J hardware and tricolor colorblocking sit on a small, boxy body of 7in by 2in by 4in. Saffiano leather with a faille lining is the material, closed by a dual top zipper rather than a flap, and the removable webbing strap has a 27in drop. Core styles run about $325 to $328, including the Snapshot DTM and the Colorblock Chain Snapshot, while the Vintage Floral version and Snapshot E/W Shoulder Bag sit near $358. If you carry a phone, cards and a lipstick and wants the bag noticed, it fits the brief.

The Scene

At 70 styles, The Scene is the newest family to take its own place in the navigation. Read it as a group rather than a shape: Small, Medium and Large Shoulder Bags, two Buckets, a Convertible Mini, a Chain Mini and a Wallet on Chain. The materials run to leather, crinkle leather, suede and denim, the widest spread of any line here. Carry is on the shoulder, or on a slim metal chain for the chain versions, so these are not top-handle bags. Pricing opens with the Scene Convertible Mini Bag near $198 and the Scene Wallet on Chain near $228. They pass $298 for the Scene Small Shoulder Bag and $358 for the Scene Small Bucket, topping out near $698 for the Scene Large Shoulder Bag. It is aimed at a buyer who wants something softer and far less logo-forward than the Tote.

The Sack Bag

The Sack Bag first showed on the 2022 runway as what the brand calls a slouchy throw-over-your-shoulder silhouette in premium leather. Rather than holding a rectangle, it collapses against the body. As the reference version, The Belted Sack Bag arrives in full-grain leather with a magnetic closure, an adjustable belted shoulder strap, an internal zip pocket, cotton twill lining and a 12in handle drop. Starting at The Micro Crossbody Sack Bag near $198, the family tops out at $498 in the end, with the Small Belted Sack Bag around $298 on the way. Seasonally, bow-detailed denim and nylon turn up at roughly $258 and $358, alongside leopard nylon and canvas cargo versions near $398. Better for people who hate hardware fuss than for crowded transit, a magnet is quicker than a zip but less secure.

The Dual Bag

The thinnest current shelf presence here sits with The Dual Bag, which also has the most public origin story. After its debut on the Fall ’23 runway, it first drew attention at the 2024 Met Gala after-party, the brand says, when Dua Lipa paired it with her look. After the Spring 2025 campaign with Emily Ratajkowski, it returned in Summer 2025 led by Doja Cat. The MARCDOWN sale section, rather than the main assortment, is mainly where it appears as of 29 September 2026. One of the rare cases here: The Large Dual Bag was listed around $297 against a regular price of about $495, with both prices on display. The shopper it suits took to the campaign imagery and will buy from what remains rather than a full color run.

The structured totes: Cristina, Dakota, Babe and Pop J Marc

A Totes category of 47 structured styles and a Shoulder Bags category of 80 sit separate from The Tote Bag on the site. Rather than the soft canvas carryalls, these are the leather bags that maintain their shape. Around $658, The Grommet Charm Cristina Tote is filed under Shoulder Bags because it gets carried that way, while The Cristina Tote sits near $398. The top-priced bag in the Totes category is The Dakota Tote at about $798. Three points define Babe: the Babe Mini Vanity Bag near $178, the Babe Mini Top Handle at roughly $298 and the Babe City Tote around $598. The Pop J Marc Work Tote sits at about $398, the Small Work Tote near $298, and these are the marc jacobs bags for a working week.

Heaven by Marc Jacobs

Heaven is the youth-facing sub-label, launched in September 2020 and art-directed from the start by Ava Nirui. As the brand tells it, it is a gateway into the sprawling and enigmatic omniverse of Marc Jacobs subversion. Among its 153 products are tees from around $65, with bags between roughly $150 and $250. That puts it as the cheapest way into a marc jacobs bag outside the canvas Tote. A David Rappeneau Shoulder Bag near $175, an artist name carried on the product itself, appears in current stock. Nirui’s departure was reported in January 2026 with no successor named, so Heaven’s creative direction now is not brand-confirmed.

The lines side by side

Shape, materials and the US price band shown on 29 September 2026 are set against each current family in the table. Read the bands as ranges across sizes and fabrications, not one price for one bag. The bottom belongs to canvas and Heaven, and the top to leather and the largest Scene styles. Material moves price more than size does: the same medium Tote is about $198 in canvas and $498 in leather. The figure in the Dual Bag row is a markdown, not a standing price. Figures here are US dollars on marcjacobs.com; they vary by country and currency and change without notice.

Lines people search for that the US site no longer carries

Disappointment on the US site is how all four of these constantly searched names end up. Look for the J Marc shoulder bag or saddle bag and you get jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, ready-to-wear and the Pop J Marc Work Tote instead, since neither is currently sold. The St. Marc is not in the current assortment either, and a search returns only a handful of Canal St apparel items. The Duffle is absent too, and no duffle bag shows in the results for that term. Plain cotton canvas with block-letter branding is what the current canvas totes are, which makes a Monogram tote the fourth ghost. Stay skeptical of sellers offering them as new stock, and treat all four as archive names rather than current marc jacobs bag lines. The one-year manufacturing-defect warranty covers only items bought from an authorized vendor, with proof of purchase.
